Fooling myself - Originally posted 24 October 2006

Well, for the gym, I've decided to kind of fool myself to push myself more... so I think of the whole gym thing as a tool to make me stronger for belly dancing instead of a tool to make me lose weight. I do cardio (elliptical or stairmaster, and treadmill) and I do some weight training. That way of thinking makes it really easier for me to go through my sessions at the gym. So I'm fooling myself...

or am I?

I really AM stronger when it comes to belly dancing now. My back feels stronger, my abs look better, my thighs are firmer... I can dance for hours and my legs don't hurt and I can keep those arms up without any fatigue, and I am hardly ever out of breath... even after a loooooooooooooong drum solo by dear Dale, I was sweating but not out of breath. Whoa!

Now my way of thinking, also, is: I've been exercising for like 3 weeks now. Let's say that it takes me 6 months to a year to get close to my target weight goal. Or maybe even longer. Anyway, all that time, I will be exercising at the gym... How strong will I be then? It's something nice to look forward to! Muhahaha!
