Well, I kind of know how it happened...
Here's the thing.
When I was a teenager, my back would be killing me and so were my legs. It wasn't growing pains... it was different. I went to see a doctor who sent me to a podiatrist (you know, a foot doctor). He looked at my ankles and saw that they were going inwards instead of straight and so he concluded that that was the origin of all my pains. He asked me to go on the ball of my feet. He then had a puzzled look on his face and asked me to walk that way.
He then explained to me that I had two options to correct my problem: wear some prosthesis (is that the word? something to put in your shoes to correct the problem; can be painful... I've had some before) or wear shoes with heels. Both my mom and I exclaimed at the same time, "Heels?" Yeah, apparently, when I lifted my feet even by an inch, my ankles were straight. It was a simple solution. And, indeed, whenever I would wear flat shoes for a day, I would have ankle, calf, and back pains.
Then..................... A miracle................ Or maybe not so miraculous.......................
Last week, we were driving to Canada to go see my family, right? Because it's such a long drive (16 hours), we do that over 2 days. So we stopped for the night after the first day of driving and I was feeling a bit stiff from all this driving so I did a few sun salutations so I bend and look at my ankles... I was surprised by what I saw but I still continued doing my sun salutations so I could check it out a few times to make sure that I saw correctly....
Well, for the past few weeks or maybe months, I had noticed that I walk slightly differently. Like my feet don't touch the ground the same way that they used to.... but it felt uber nice.
The end result: my ankles are almost straight... definitely not that inwards anymore. They still do have a tendency to be inwards but they are mostly straight.
So there were more than 2 options to solve my problem! The other option was bellydancing and/or yoga; not sure which one did it or if it's the combination of both or whatnot. I don't care... It worked... that's all that matters. ;o)
